Playing with #
Puppet and #
Foreman again, after years. Back in the days there was the #
forum, which was always a good place to learn from other people's mistakes and their solutions. For some reason that forum was taken down and replaced by #
Slack. They say this is the modern way to communicate.
Call me a boomer, but Slack sucks. For the kind of information exchange that typically takes place on a forum, that is. What's wrong with a forum where anyone can post and anyone can search? I liked searching for posts that seemed to talk about the same problems I was facing, and picking up all sorts of things while sifting through the search results. I still do. Either some people have made a terrible mistake, or #
PuppetLabs had their own reasons to close it down.
I think it's not helping the community. Or me, when I'm struggling with something and need some inspiration from fellow tinkerers.
