That seemed a bit... odd. Was he really suggesting that someone's skin color is a factor in how they interpret that phrase? That seemed racist to me, so asked if I misunderstood:

I sympathise with what you're trying to say, but doing that with a gross generalisation about whites seems a bit counter-intuitive.
I got a few reactions, but either the OP or the admin seems to have removed my comment, and with it the discussion that followed. Shame, really. I learned a few things that some people will tell me I should have known already, but I'm sure I'm not the only white who doesn't know enough. Apparently, "white people" doesn't necessarily mean people with a white skin...
So I thought I'd share it from my own server, from my point of view. No threads, unfortunately, so it's pretty much impossible to see which post is a reaction to which.
