Happened yesterday, went to my GP, he let me cool it for 10 minutes (again, had already done that at home, of course) and I have an appointment in the hospital this afternoon.
Doesn't hurt at the moment, which is nice.

Looks dramatically worse after a day, but the doctor says it's going to heal nicely. Got ointment and bandages for a week, and an appointment for next week.

Burns hurt like hell, but after a few days it will only be a memory ;-)

Looking even worse today. And you don't want to see what it looked like when I removed the bandage this morning; this is after I cleaned it.
Now, a thick layer of ointment on it, and then a fresh bandage. Rinse and repeat, for week.

Dank je. De pijn valt gelukkig wel mee, zolang ik niet te veel hoef te bewegen en nergens tegenaan stoot.

A week later: the wound is closed and dry. I've pulled off the last bits of dead skin. It doesn't really hurt anymore, now it's itching. The doctor will have a look at in on wednesday, I think I can leave the ointment and bandages then.

My mom always tells me not to scratch it even it is itching a lot. Glad to know it recovers better.

When summer arrives, al you see is just whiter skin, and a tendency to feel a slight burn in direct sunlight (when hot). I also experienced a tenderness to any heat (like warm water when showering) after healing, so do not be surprised if that happens. It does looks quite a lot better than the last photo ;-)

The docter told me to shield it from the sun this summer, or it would discolour in a very weird way. Docter knows best, so I will.

Yep, also helps against the burning sensation, it can be quite distracting when put in direct sunlight.

I'm not scratching, I'd probably damage it if I did. Can't scratch btw, there's a bandage on it. But what I can do is rub my fingers gently over the bandage, that helps a bit and doesn't do any damage.

The skin will be tender and fragile for a while yet, you had done quite a bit of damage to it!

Well, the doctor was satisfied; it's healing just fine. No need for the ointment and bandage anymore, but I'll have to keep is greasy for a while. Bought a tube of vaseline, that should be fine.
Now if only that itch would go away, driving me crazy from time to time...
