I'm actually fine with the Germans remaining pacifist. Other countries can pick up the slack. Although I'm also fairly confident that Germany has left its militaristic history so far behind them that they can be trusted this time.

That sounds quite the opposite from how the political spectrum usually supports and opposes war. How often has the Green Party been part of the government? I don't think Germany has gone to war very often.
That the German military is infested with nazis is definitely concerning. Is that also true for officers? Because that would be terrifying.

That does change my view of Germany quite a bit. I thought Germany had really thoroughly dealt with its militaristic history and ensured that it could never happen again, but it sounds like it's still alive.
I've got to admit I've always found it a bit weird that a pacifistic country made one of the best tanks in the world. With a name that continues the Nazi naming scheme for tanks. Perhaps that should have clued me in.
