This is an interesting take, I don't believe AI will replace all developers
Why @why.bsky.team Until December of last year I was using LLMs as fancy autocomplete for coding. It was nice for scaffolding out boilerplate, or giving me a gut check on some things, or banging out some boring routine stuff. In the past two months Claude has written about 99% of my code. Things are changing. Fast - Lizardguy | check pinned post @lizardguy64.bsky.social · 21d .... what horrible breaches have we already had? Why the fuck would you come out and say "oh yeah, all our code is shit" like that? - @why.bsky.team · 21d I understand you're scared of the future, but hiding under a rock won't help you meet it

Oops, perhaps the original post was a bad look for the project? lol

Paul Frazee @pfrazee.com I do want to make sure we're being clear about this: The Bluesky team maintains the same review, red-teaming, and QA processes that we always have. AI coding tools have been proving useful, but haven't changed the fundamental practices of good engineering. Human review and direction remain key.

Agree, it will not replace all developers. But I'm pretty sure it will replace many, if not most.

I think if devs only let AI write their code while they don't even try to understand it, then it's not really good cause there may be flaws, bugs and the code might not be very well optimized
However, if they atleast review it, fix the bugs and eventually adapt it to what they want then it's fine imo
