I finally got #ElementX to find my server. Looks like it needs /.well-known/matrix/client over http, a redirect to https seems to throw a spanner in the works.

It's syncing now. And syncing... and syncing...

Ah, @F-Droid gave me a rather old #ElementX and my server didn't understand its requests. Downloaded the latest (and greatest?) from Github, and now we're in business 😎

Thanks for reminding me I had Element X installed on my phone. I could never get past the "icon-identification" -step before (not sure about the correct name for this funtion) , but I retried after reading you post, and it worked! 😄
