We are also (both) boostered, my son will go tuesday, now lets hope one booster will be enough, as i am not overly fond of needle jabs. Not that this one is painful (other than a sore arm for a few days) just, the whole process that i find annoying and irritating.

Great to hear it. I haven't got boosters yet since it has not been half a year since my second shot. I should get a booster since there are lots of news stated that two shots of Sinovac vaccines do not protect us well from the new variants of the virus.

It was smooth sailing here. I didn't even have to go to Middelburg, they had set up a jabbing station a few blocks away from here. It was well organized: check ID, check questionnaire, sit down, get a jab, wait 15 minutes and done. Took little over half an hour, all-in-all.

Same here. I've had 2 shots of Pfizer, but after half a year that seems to be rather ineffective against the new Omikron variant. I got a Moderna shot this time.

No, you don't get the choice here. At least, not up to now. There's a new one on the market, a traditional vector-vaccine, and I think you can choose that once it's ready. That could be a reason for people who don't trust mRNA-vaccines to get vaccinated anyway.

There is also a vaccine developed by an Indonesian doctor called "Vaksim Nusantara" although I do not really understand the way it works. It said that the method is similar with the one to treat cancer. https://www.infid.org/news/read/vaksin-nusantara-look-concerned-scientist
Since I do not understand well about the vaccine, I don't know whether it is similar with traditional vector vaccine that you mention. But, the most distributed vaccines here are Sinovac and Astra Zenecca. Pfizer and Moderna are a bit less.

I'm not an expert either, but for what I know there are 2 types of vaccines. The traditional one works by using dead parts of the actual virus, that the body can use as "training material". The mRNA version works by directly providing your cells the instructions to produce the antibodies.

It's mostly Pfizer and Moderna here. I think they stopped with AstraZeneca when there were a few cases of blood clotting.

The mRNA version works by directly providing your cells the instructions to produce the antibodies.

AFAIU, instead of providing a deactivated virus or its harmless fingerprint, it provides the messenger RNA to build this fingerprint (only in the outer part of the cells), so for a short period of time, the cells pitch some clay pigeons for target practice to the immune system.
