Trump may actually be doing something good this time. There's a first time for everything, so to speak.
Think about it. He's taken #
Mastodon, wiped his ass with the #
AGPL and lots of people, including Eugen Rochko himself of course, are furious about it. And for good reasons.
Trump is an attention whore who will do absolutely anything to be in the spotlights, even if that means going to court. And if this goes to court, there will also be a lot of attention for Mastodon. Lots and lots of people who have never heard of it, and may not even be aware of alternatives for #
Twitter or #
Facebook, will learn about it. This could draw lots of people to Mastodon and the #
Fediverse in general.
Call me an optimist, but I think this can actually go the right way.
