Can anyone recommend an Android tracking app that can does not communicate personal movement profiles to questionable servers? (Open source clearly preferred)
I came across traccar and nexttracks (f-droid version of ownctracks). But they seem to require installing a server counterpart. I do have a webhost and could install something low-threshold like Hubzilla, but I am no Linux crack and have little influence on special server configurations. It seems traccar has the more mature client, whereas nexttracks could do with a web or MQTT server (no experience with that, but I could use it for other purposes, too).
Does someone have experience with these, or something different?
