Ah, I sometimes drop someone after the automatic shareback, but I have never seen a downside to that setting. I prefer to communicate with the scammers so that I can deal with them. Just part of being an admin here.

The gist: I don't automatically follow back. I check someone's profile, and if I have even the vaguest sense of having run into something I might like, I follow back.

That may not always be the welcoming that new users. Again in Dutch, but I'm sure there are online translators

Hmm, I realise I can't block an account that I have no connection with yet. I can see what #Superblock currently blocks, but can't add or edit entries. Each and every one of those was blocked after having exchanged at least a few messages.

Our Emily here doesn't follow and doesn't post, so I have nothing to open my blocklist from 🤔

Blacklisting the entire diaspora-fr.org pod ("instance" or "server", for you Mastodonners) would mean severing contact with a few users there, so that's no option.

PM'ing the admin doesn't work, as we have no connection, so let's call @Fla / @Fla via this way 😉

I get about one new like every hour, I've stopped counting.

It's apparently a way to entice people on different pods to follow (or "share", as it is called in D*), so that messages they may post, will reach many public streams. Porn should draw in a few of those who don't automatically share/follow back.

Or maybe it's only a cheap trick to serve people porn and, undoubtedly, ads and tracking.

Yeah I got hundreds more likes from that account overnight. It is Interesting that they occurred every hour throughout the night North America time and in fact every hour for the past 20 hours. Either someone is an insomniac or a bot.
