People born in 1968, 1969 and 1970 can now schedule an appointment for a COVID-19 booster vaccination by the Municipal Public Health Services (GGDs). This can only be done online, via www.coronavaccinatie-afspraak.nl.

@hans The numbers there are really high. I feel sad for that fact. I wish the numbers can decrease ASAP so everyone there can go back to their pre-pandemic activities.

It is picking up a lot of pace and running smooth and efficient at the GGD sites, I have heard. No paper invitations, no SMS invitations as far as I have heard, but once registered the operation runs well. My personal experience was at Amsterdam RAI last week when I accompanied someone else. They were putting jabs in arms between 08:00 and 22:00, 18000 injections per day on that single site. No queues but never empty, it was a steady stream of customers from car park, checks, injection, 10m pause to check for allergies, back to the car park. We were back at home in 1h15m, including travel time from another city 30km away. Not a bad experience.

That will take a while, and may never happen if new variants keep popping up.

We'll only really be out of the woods if we have a vaccine that protects 100% and the vast majority of the world population has been vaccinated. Seeing how Pfizer and the likes are mostly interested in making as much money as they can, that moment may never come.

We'll have to adjust, play by the rules of evolution, like all life forms on this planet.

@hans Well this reminds me of what @aral posted previously.

"Money is just another god created by man; capitalism, just another religion."

The booster and/or vaccination rates should be more rapid than the emergence of the new variants. About making money as much as possible by firms, we should restructure the forms and the aims of firms. The CEOs are in tough position too as they need to satisfy the investors. Anyone should introduce the new forms.

@hans I do not mean that what CEOs are doing are right. I am just trying to think from the perspectives of the CEOs. To solve a problem, we need to think from both opposing parties.

@hans maybe there is an exception. We have to really blame for CEOs of health-sector companies who list the firms into stock exchanges.

Well, governments have invested incredible amounts of money in it, they should be kept happy.

The problem is with shareholders: they are the ones that own a part of the enterprise and therefore decide the direction it should take. And most of those are unscrupulous money-grubbers. That's how capitalism works.

@hans yeah we need to re-regulate anything related to money. Because of pursuing for money, people tend to anything (I don't want to bullshit since I am pursuing for money and we can't live without money today) I see FOSS as a great and potential sign to start decapitalising.
