@Hans The Dutch are usually seen as misers, but I think that was a bit difficult to put into this drawing. But making a joke about the Dutch endlessly talking about stuff to reach a solution is spot on!

Sure made my day, a lot of love in the details. Although - being a German - I do not think the German way is quite up to date. I would say:

:flag_de: Problem => grudging & demanding democracy (meaning: my opinion has to prevail over public opinion) => problem + problem from the problem.

After Brexit, I would update UK with

:flag_gb: Problem => Teatime + vote + ignore reality of negotiation results => (flags of England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland) + bigger problems (while :flag_eu: :popcorn)

Can't beat the beauty of conciseness of the original meme, though...

Not so sure. Let's make this very clear first: the Dutch and the Belgians get along really well, we removed our border checks long before the EU did the same. But there's this wisdom that sums up our relationship quite well:

The Dutch love the Belgians, but they don't respect them.
The Belgians respect the Dutch, but they don't love them.
