A sad day: the great Jerry Lee Lewis has passed away at 87. A fantastic piano player, great singer and fabulous performer. I got to know his music in my late teens, together with that of the other great performers of the fifties: Elvis, Little Richard and Chuck Berry. Jerry Lee was the last of the big rock 'n rollers, he will be missed.
Most of my generation will probably know Great Balls of Fire, the Highschool Confidential and maybe Breathless, so I'm not posting any of those. I really like this one too: a traditional song, played with constraint, but very much swinging in Jerry Lee Lewis style.
