Glad that I don't let #
Google

You can easily build a filter (in Gmail) that still dumps the rubbish in the bin, no big problem, as those political vampires always use the same words, just enter those in the filter for the body, and let them automated be binned, better do check in a while to see if it did not catch that one family member with to much vampire likeness in his emails so he is also included ;-)

Filtering based on just a few words looks very dangerous to me, tbh. I think we got away with that in the 90's, but no more. I can tell you about the processes mail goes through on my systems, that's quite a bit more complex than blacklisting a few key words.

Server based filters are the most efficient way of blocking Spam.
Agree. Without a decent filter that uses scoring, fuzzy logic and online signatures, you're pretty much out of luck.
I was able to run my mailserver without a spamfilter until about 10 years ago, just by enforcing strict protocol adherence, but those days are gone. Nowadays I use DNS blacklists, Spamhaus, Amavis and SpamAssassin and still something slips through every now and then.
