What I don't understand is why so many so called progressives, liberals and strong opponents of Musk are still on Twitter, paying a monthly fee to get the blue badge and pretend they have any kind of moral standing in this subject.

Read a rather entertaining discussion on Facebook on an American "progressive left" leader who was extremely upset when my friend criticized their hypocrisy of attacking Bezus, Zuckerberg and Musk while refusing to move out of those platforms and push for a boycott of them.

I don't understand that either. All I hear among friends and family is that he's really a genius because of where he is in life, and that in itself deserves our unfaltering respect. Pointing out that he got a flying start in life, a bunch of people steering him and a quite a bit of luck doesn't change that attitude.

And the few that are rational enough to understand that even though he may have done a few things right, he's still a major league asshole, won't leave Twitter "because that's where all the action is". Excuses like "I can reach millions of people on Twitter, not so much on the Fediverse." Yeah, as if you need to tell millions of people what you had for dinner... :rolling_eyes:

The racism, homophobia and misinformation don't seem to matter, "I can look past that". Yeah, right.
