Yesterday we had the #
DutchElections2023 and as most of you will probably have heard by now, Geert #
Wilders, our national #
fascist, has become the largest party. By far. I'm still reeling, this is seriously bad. Not only for our own country, but for Europe as a whole.
Sure, there's still a chance no other party will want to work with him, which would mean he can't get a majority.
But our country has been making a right turn for years, and there are enough rightwing parties to get a majority, if only they are ok with teaming up with a #
fascist. Two of those parties have no problem with that. The other remains a mystery, but I'm afraid he won't want to give up a possible position as PM in a new government, after having left his original party, CDA, with a lot of anger and frustration, only to start his own party and becoming 4 times bigger than CDA.
People from all walks of life have put their trust in Wilders. Some are youngsters who can't get a place to live and who fell for his promise to fix that. Somewhat understandible, and learning that politicians will promise you the sky during elections, but who'll follow their own agenda once the dust has settled, is all part of growing up.
But I'm not sure if they also understood what comes with Wilders, other than the spontaneous appearance of new, cheap housing for everyone. The hate against many other people in our country. The hate against a lot of other people in Europe. And the hate against large parts of the rest of the world.
You would expect those boys and girls to have been in a few history classes, to understand that seriously bad things happen if you put a fascist on the throne. The #
Netherlands have quite a reputation when it comes to #
education.
And did they consider that Wilders is a #
climate denier, so he'll speed up the process of the destruction of our world, their world, the world they have to live in for decades? Or did they think there's still time to postpone radical measures?
But again, I'm not so sure many of them do. Or better: I hope most of them don't, so we can call it ignorance, lack of historical knowledge or simply stupidity.
But there's a very real chance that there actually are a lot of people in this country who simply hate Moroccans, muslims or foreigners whatsoever. And some of them are even people I would never have expected it from, people I've known and considered close friends for decades.
That's a shocking thought.
Let me give all of you a bit of advice. All of you, all over the world.
YOU DON'T VOTE FOR FASCISTS, EVER!I'm out.
